The under-the-radar challenger Instabridge has become a profit machine with 25 million users, hundreds of millions in annual revenue, and a caller ID service competing with Truecaller. Now the company is launching a free service intended to completely replace traditional mobile subscriptions in the United States.
“What Skype did for telephony, we want to do for mobile data”, says CEO Carl Hasselskog, who predicts billion-level revenues within a couple of years and a New York stock exchange listing after that.
