Northvolt Alumni Launch AI Startup Ronja. Replaces Entire Data Departments

Anton Melander and Adam Lewenhaupt left battery giant Northvolt in 2024—a year before its bankruptcy—to build Ronja, an AI platform that helps small and midsize companies harness their data without expensive in-house teams. The Stockholm-based startup, which raised 16 million SEK at a 59 million SEK valuation last April, uses AI agents to collect, structure, and analyze business data, promising “big data for AI without hallucinations.” Having run pilots across industries from logistics to finance, Ronja launched broadly this week, with ambitions to reach 50–100 million SEK in revenue by end of 2027. In a twist of fate, they now share a building with their former boss Peter Carlsson, who’s next door building his own AI venture, Aris Machina.
